Frequently asked questions
Bottle feeding
Can I prepare formula milk for an entire day?
If you store prepared formula milk, bacteria may develop, which can make your baby sick. Additionally, many nutrients can be lost this way. It’s better to prepare one bottle at a time and feed it to your baby immediately. That’s why we recommend not storing prepared formula and using it within one hour.
Can I add some rice porridge to the formula milk before bedtime?
From four months onward, you may add Biobim Rice Porridge to your baby’s formula. Gradually increase the amount, start with one tablespoon. This allows your baby to slowly get used to the new food. Rice porridge increases the energy value of the feed and helps keep your little one satisfied for longer.
What can I do if porridge mixed with Biobim Ekobaby doesn’t flow through the bottle teat?
Make sure to use a porridge teat, which has a larger opening (often a slit). If needed, you can carefully enlarge the opening with a clean knife. There are also drinking cups available that allow your baby to drink both porridge and milk. Finally, you could offer the porridge with a spoon from a small bowl.
The formula milk isn’t dissolving properly, what could be the reason?
Make sure the water is at the correct temperature (around 40°C) when adding the powder. If the water is too hot or too cold, it may not dissolve properly. Always follow the preparation instructions on the packaging carefully.
Why is there Biobim Ekobaby 3?
The formulation of Biobim Ekobaby 3 is specially tailored to meet the needs of a growing toddler.
How can I take formula milk with me?
Take a measured amount of boiled water in a clean thermos and the correct amount of Biobim formula powder in a clean container. Mix everything on the spot, shake well, check the temperature, and you’re good to go. For young infants, it’s important to carefully clean all necessary materials before use.
Do I need to boil the water when preparing formula milk?
It is recommended to boil the water before using it to prepare formula milk. It’s important to let it cool down to around 40 degrees Celsius afterward.
Complementary feeding
Are the new porridges different in taste, smell, and texture?
The renewed line of baby porridges includes five familiar varieties. However, all porridges have been given new names and an improved recipe. As a result, you may experience the porridge differently than you’re used to.
Can I mix Biobim porridges with breast milk?
All our baby porridges mix excellently with breast milk. The porridge becomes slightly thinner than when prepared with infant formula.
How can I best start with complementary feeding?
You can start complementary feeding from four months onwards. We recommend beginning with a single-ingredient bite. For example, you can start by adding Biobim Rice Porridge to breast or formula milk. In addition, the first vegetable or fruit puree can be introduced. Choose purees with one type of vegetable or fruit. This helps your baby get used to complementary feeding more easily. If this goes well, you can try other flavors.
How long can a jar of Biobim be stored?
An unopened jar of Biobim can be stored until the date indicated on the side of the lid. You can keep unopened jars in a kitchen cupboard at temperatures between +4 °C and +37 °C. Before consumption, check that the jar is undamaged and that the safety vacuum lid pops when opened for the first time. Once opened, the jar must be properly sealed, stored in the refrigerator, and consumed within 24 hours. The texture and color of the contents may vary naturally.
What is nitrate and where is it found in high amounts?
Vegetables are an important source of nitrate. It is found, for example, in spinach, beets, endive, purslane, lettuce, and pointed cabbage. Do not give nitrate-rich vegetables to infants under six months of age, and for children older than six months, limit them to no more than twice a week.
